Hey folks!

I thought I would send this Newsletter a little early due to the Holidays coming up. Barry and I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year! Thanks for all your support. We look forward to bringing you news and a lot of useful information in the coming year. Just let us know how we are doing and anything we should add to the site.

Barry's Tips

Now that we are into the really cold months of winter fishing in Alabama, I don't think anyone can give you any fool proof method of fishing. So to help me better understand winter fishing I am going to ask for your help.

What would you do? Start to finish, what time of day seems to be the best for you? What baits have been successful? What type of structure seems to be the best? How often do go? Do you fish shallow or deep? What do think a successful day on the lake would consist of or how many fish do you catch on a good day?

It is really hard to give advice on fishing unless you know what your readers are doing. I think this will help every fisherman in Alabama and, most of all, our readers. The last trip I went on the temperature was fifty eight degrees, no wind, and cloudy day. Seem to be the perfect day to fish, but we finished the day with one fish. I guess we fished with everything in the box - jerk baits, worms, jigs, crank baits, and spoons. The only fish we caught was on a Carolina rigged worm. If you can give some insight on winter fishing I will pass it on to others so that we all can become better fishermen - which is why Ed and I started this web site. You really don't have to give up your deep dark secrets you hold near and dear, just some tips for a good day of fishing. Email me or Ed at Bamabassfishing.com.

Be safe and stay warm!!!

See Ya Barry

Rattling Crankbaits

You know, Rattletraps could be an important bait in the upcoming FLW tournamant on Lake Guntersville. There is usually one or two pros using them every time they fish Guntersville.

See what Paul Bruessow has to say about fishing Rattletraps in his article
"Bass Fishing Technique Lesson 2 - Rattling Crankbaits "

Don't overlook rattletrap fishermen when making your picks for the FLW Fantasy Fishing!

Bama Bass Fishing Store

Just another reminder to visit our new BBF Store!

We have partnered with some of the biggest names in fishing and created an online store where you can shop for anything you might need in the way of tackle, lures, books - even boats! All of these items are things you will buy anyway - but now you can shop in one place and help support your favorite bass fishing site! Granted we only get a tiny commission off everything you buy, but this will help us continue to improve the site and bring you all the information you need for bass fishing in Alabama. And best of all - we have the best prices on the web and it won't cost you a dime more!

Visit the BBF Store and let us know what you think. And when you "go shopping" for that new rod and reel or subscribe to a new magazine, remember to start your trip in the BBF Store. Barry and I will thank you and will continue to bring you new information to the site.

Thanks again,

Ed
