Fishing Line Knots - Double Surgeon

Of all the fishing line knots we describe on this website, the Double Surgeon Knot is among the easiest to tie. Its purpose is to connect two lines of differing diameters.



Lay the fishing line and leader parallel, with about a 6 to 8 inch overlap.

Tie a simple overhand knot with both lines together. Both the short end and the long end should be completely pulled through.

Don't tighten the fishing knot yet. Go through again with both ends exactly the same as the first time.

Hold all ends and pull the knot tight. Trim the ends.
