Think you can’t build a money-making website? Think again! People are doing it every day. But like most conventional businesses, the large percentage of new websites fail to make money. What is it that dooms so many of these websites from the start. Poor planning... perhaps. Bad organization... maybe. What I do know is that for a website to succeed and make money, it has to have three things... TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC, TRAFFIC! And where does this traffic come from?
How about being on page #1 in Google!
It's true...if you Google "Alabama bass fishing" you will find that this site you are browsing now, comes up on THE FIRST PAGE of Google, out of hundreds of thousands of other web sites about bass fishing! Go and search if you don't believe me...google "Alabama bass fishing" now and you will find BamaBassFishing.com on page #1.
As a retired air traffic controller, I actually know more about airplanes than I do about computers! So how did a novice like me, make this site become so popular and beat all the other 'professional' sites out there...and there are a lot of them! It is really not that hard to build a website these days - but to actually get a site 'noticed' in the big world wide web, to build a website that gets traffic is the real mission...many of you will understand just what I am talking about!
Yes, building a money-making website is easier than you think. All you need is enthusiasm, some hard work and the ability to write a few good words.
It could be about tennis, basketball, handicrafts, health, games, parenting, anything. Make the subject of your website something that you have a passion for and that you know something about – or are willing to learn.
The world wide web is a great place, full of information about anything under the sun. That's the reason why you see all those sites sprouting up everywhere - people like to share their information about the topics that they are interested in. To build a money-making website wasn't their plan but they found out that it can be a good source of income.
What about Web Hosting?Many website hosting companies offer cheap hosting... but that is it. Well maybe some throw in a few things like a free guest book or counter... big deal. I used one of these for my first venture into website building. But after setting up my hosting account, I got no further help.
They happily took my money - and then I never heard from them again until the annual email asking for more money.
My website was literally 'lost in cyberspace!' and they didn't care a bit!
I just assumed you had to pay BIG BUCKS to create a site that got noticed. But I found out I was wrong!
