How to Tie Fishing Knots

Two Wrap Hangman Knot

Many anglers want to know how to tie fishing knots in a way that will give a lure its best action, yet maintain most of the line strength. The Two Wrap Hangman’s knot is a very good fishing knot for addressing these two elements.

This fishing lure knot has an unusual loop that can be slid around with ease. The loop actually remains open while fishing but when the fish bites, it will tighten as a knot around the eye of your fishing lure. Even better, after the fish has been released, the knot will slide open again.

2. Take the tag end of the line and stick it back through the two wraps.

3. To tighten the knot, pull on the hook and on the end of the line. Some people will use a cleat to hold the hook and pull on the end of the line with pliers. You will notice that the knot slides up and down. Pick the location you would like the knot and tighten slightly.

4. Trim the end down to 1/8 inch.

And that’s the useful Two Wrap Hangman’s Knot. Thanks for reading.

Good Fishing.
